Recipe with honey
Summer Blossom Honey Apple Spread
The creamy, floral summer blossom honey goes well with autumn apples and makes a fruity spread without much sugar.
⏱ Prep 10 min · Cook/bake time 20 min · Total 30 min · 6 servings
Ingredients
- 500 g tart apples (e.g. Boskoop)
- 3 tbsp SUMMSTOFF summer blossom honey
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- 50 ml water
Method
- Peel, quarter and core the apples and cut them into small cubes.
- Put the apple cubes in a pot with water and lemon juice and simmer, covered, over medium heat until soft.
- After about 15 minutes, mash the apples with a fork or a potato masher.
- Stir in the cinnamon and cloves and cook down, uncovered, for a few more minutes until the mixture is thick.
- Take the pot off the heat and let it cool a little.
- Only then stir in the summer blossom honey, so that its aroma is preserved.
- Fill into a clean jar and, once cooled, store in the fridge.
