Frequently asked questions about honey

Which honey is best in tea?

Mild, clear varieties such as acacia and Linden blossom honey dissolve well and do not overpower the tea. Tip: let the tea cool down a little first and then sweeten it, so that the valuable ingredients are preserved.

Which honey is good for children?

Mild varieties such as Spring blossom honey or Acacia honey are especially popular with children. Important: honey is not suitable for infants under 12 months.

Why does honey become solid and crystallise?

Setting is a completely natural process and a sign of genuine, natural honey. Rapeseed honey crystallises quickly, acacia honey stays liquid for a long time. Solid honey becomes liquid again in a warm water bath at no more than 40 degrees.

What does single-variety mean?

Single-variety honey comes predominantly from one forage source, such as rapeseed or linden, and therefore has a clear, typical character – unlike a blend of many forage sources.

Why regional honey instead of supermarket blends?

At SUMMSTOFF, the origin of every variety is transparent and traceable. The honey comes from professional beekeepers in German regions – not from anonymous import blends.
